At Givin’ it Laldie we are very lucky to have the support of fantastic volunteers who donate their expertise, energy, knowledge and time to support our work. From sitting on our board of directors to helping put guitars away we wouldn’t be able to function without them.
For Volunteering week 2019 we asked Laura and Hannah to share their experiences of volunteering with Givin’ it Laldie.

I have a very positive experience in volunteering within Givin’ it Laldie. Everyone is very friendly and, work as a team encouraging a good working ethos. I thoroughly enjoy meeting and helping people who have learning difficulties as, they are lovely folks who enjoy singing.
Volunteering in the Choir has most definitely helped me go through a bereavement and, know there is light at the end of the tunnel. No matter how much you put in you gain so much more. To see the Choir members grow in confidence and, self-esteem is very rewarding to say the least.
The Choir means so much to me because the Choir members are so happy and, such a joy to be with.

I really enjoyed my time volunteering with Givin’ It Laldie. I was initially drawn to this organisation because of the great work they do in making music accessible to people in the community, and was eager to get involved as I am passionate about music and the arts, and I eventually hope to pursue a career in music therapy.
During my time with Givin’ It Laldie I assisted with the community choir. The choir met on a weekly basis, and I was happy to get involved in any way that was needed, such as assisting with any needs they may have, whether it was in relation to music or helping out with general tasks. I really enjoyed volunteering with this organisation, as the staff were very supportive of their volunteers and members. It is very clear they care about their members, and are passionate about using music to build and strengthen the community and improving general well-being.
