Givin’ it Laldie is back after the winter break and 2020 is looking to be as exciting and music-filled as ever!  In the midst of strategy meetings, office clear outs, starting new classes and restarting our 8 weekly music sessions we took a moment to reflect on the Winter Warmer 2020!

Once again we joined forces with our friends; Citizen’s Theatre Community Collective,  Bridging the Gap and the High Rise Bakers, to bring people together for theatre, music and very tasty food.

It was a wonderful evening which was attended by an audience of 120 people including First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.  The week before our Gorbals Children’s Choir sang to an audience of 400 at the Christmas Tree Light Switch On.

Audience members gave us some feedback:

‘Great show. Good to see all the groups coming together. Strum for Life Beginners and the Snowball fight were my favourite moments.’

‘Very good and very funny. I liked the noses and the reindeer. I loved the choirs. Kids choir is great.’

‘The first song Sing for Health sang – wow, amazing.  Good job keeping the heating doon.  Thanks everyone. Loved it.’

‘It was super fun. So glad I came with my daughter. My favourite moment was the dance under the fake nose.’

‘Fabulous performance great commitment from staff and performers. Great fun and great community. My favourite moments were Stephen’s breakdance, the snowball fight and references to £5 for G5’s in the play. Love it.’

It was an evening of togetherness, laughter and warmth and we loved every second.

We feel very grateful for every moment we spent together last year singing, laughing, snacking and sharing stories and we are working hard to ensure there is much more to come!
