Role

We are looking for someone who believes in the power of music to improve/sustain good mental health and wellbeing, build connections and create community. Do you have experience in supporting a charity to do what it does best? If so, could you be Givin’ It Laldie’s new Chair of its Board of Trustees?

You don’t need to be a musician or have a musical background to apply!

Givin’ it Laldie is a community music charity for people living and working in the Gorbals, Glasgow. We run free, uplifting, singing and instrument sessions to bring people together to make friends, learn something new and look after their health and wellbeing. Everyone is welcome regardless of background or ability and no previous music experience is required.

Working with the Board of Trustees, you need to be a dependable, committed and driven person, who already has experience of being a trustee or chair of a small Scottish charity and is committed to the work of our small organisation.

Working closely with the Manager, Treasurer, Secretary and other board members, you will support us to sustain and build Givin’ It Laldie’s mission to provide free, accessible music to all living in the Gorbals.

Further details of the role, experience and time commitment necessary are provided on our GiL Chair Recruitment Pack.

We will prioritise applications from those who live or work in the Gorbals but will assess applications based on meeting the needs of our charity. We strive for our Board of Trustees to represent the communities we work with as much as possible and therefore encourage applications from many different backgrounds with regards to race, gender, class, sexuality and ability.
