Our Music Groups
G5 Kids Choir
The G5 Kids Choir brings together children from St. Francis’ Catholic Primary School and Blackfriars non-denominational Primary School to make music, make friends and sing around the Gorbals!
Sing for Life
Sing for Life is a daytime small laidback singing session that is especially suitable for older adults, individuals with health problems or anyone who would enjoy a gentle, uplifting singing session.
Strum for Life
Strum for Life is our community guitar class for all ages. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a complete beginner or you’ve been jamming for years – we cater for everyone! Guitars are provided, or you can bring your own.
Sing for health
An inclusive, fun group singing session for people with disabilities and/or additional support needs.
This is a small singing group where songs are taught by ear, participants are encouraged to incorporate movement into their singing and everyone gets the opportunity to sing their party piece!
Please email Chani the Community Development Officer laldiecommunity@gmail.com to find out more and see if there is space in the choir.
Youth Guitar Group
This is a community guitar class for children and young people who are just beginning or who have been playing for a little while.
The Laldie Sessions
We run weekly group singing sessions in McNeil Street and Moffat Street dementia units. We also run singing groups in the Blackfriars Court Sheltered Housing every three weeks. These are uplifting singing sessions for residents, friends, family and staff to allow people to connect to one another, improve their wellbeing and have fun.
For more information or to see if we can start a similar group where you work, please email the Development Officer Chani at laldiecommunity@gmail.com.
